Thursday, 27 October – Event Opening Day.
Arrival at the hotel for check-in from 3pm. If you are flying into Faro, transfers are included in your package. The Race office and Expo will be open from 3pm-8pm, for you to collect your race kit, at the Blue Alvor Resort. A handy location for those of you who select our Blue Alvor 3-night package. The evening is yours to prepare for the first day of competition.
Friday, 28 October – Swim Competition Day.
Today is a 12am meet at Prainha / Caniço at Praia Três Irmãos, approximately 1.2km walking distance from the expo, which will be open once again from 9am. The swim start will take place from 12.30am-2pm on one of the most beautiful beaches in the area. This evening you have the option to join a pasta dinner at 8pm. Alternatively, rest up and refuel in the comfort of your hotel, ready to head back out tomorrow.
Saturday, 29 October – Bike Competition Day.
The bike competition venue will be held at the Portimao Racetrack. The bike course starts and finish with a lap inside the Portimão Racetrack and will climb all the way to the Foia, the most challenging climb in the Algarve rising to almost 1.000 meters. Race kit pick up from for the bike must be done on the 27th or the 28th. The bike start line up starts at 8.30-8.45am with a start of 9am. Transfers to and from the venue can be added to your package at extra cost. There is a cut-off at 2pm, therefore the last lap for full distance must start by 1pm. The expo will be open from 4.30pm-8pm and at 7.30pm there is the option again, to join a pasta dinner.
Sunday, 23 October – Run Competition Day.
The final event will take place at the scenic Marina Portimao and goes all the way to the Arribas of Praia do Vau (cliffs) and back, going over the “passadiços de madeira”, the wooden walkway over the beach. The line-up will begin at 8.30am for a run start of 9am. Once you have completed your run, you will receive your overall time and results. The awards ceremony will take place next to the finish line between 5.30pm-6.30pm. Congratulate yourself on completing the 1st of the TRITON world series. Today is also a departure day. You are free to depart at leisure if you have flights booked for this evening, or you are transferring to another hotel.
