Monday 11 July, 2022 : Travel to Alpe d’Huez
Today the riders of the 2022 Tour de France have their second rest day in Chatel.
Make your own arrangements to arrive in Alpe d’Huez today. Our team will be available to meet you at the accommodation. If you plan to fly then we offer airport transfers for you, your luggage and your bike from Lyon or Geneva airport.
Our Chalets
These chalets can only be booked for exclusive use by groups. Please note that the internal bedroom doors cannot be locked. The chalets are booked on a self-catering basis. The rooms will be made up on arrival and cleaned on departure. There is no daily cleaning or hotel service.
The Chalets de l'Altiport are exclusively located in a tranquil area higher up the mountain approximately 500 metres from the bustling centre of the Alpe d'Huez resort. Alpe d’Huez has numerous bars, restaurants and boutiques, as well as a swimming pool, leisure centre, ice rink and cinema. The chalets are a short walk from Les Bergers area of Alpe d’Huez and a free shuttle bus runs frequently to the resort centre.
All chalets are self-catered and come with a fully-equipped American-style kitchen, giving guests the freedom to cook their own meals or eat out at the selection of restaurants in the resort. There are food shops within walking distance, and the centre of the resort is just a 500m walk or free shuttle bus ride away.
From high-end restaurants to casual pizzerias and mountain hot dog cafés, Alpe d'Huez offers plenty of variety for places to eat.

Geneva Airport
The journey from Geneva Airport to Alpe d’Huez takes approximately 3 and a 1/2 hours with a coach.
Lyon Airport
The journey from Lyon Airport to Alpe d’Huez takes approximately 2 and a 1/2 hours with a coach.
What about my bike?
You can bring your own bike as we have made arrangements to transport bike boxes on our airport transfers. Alternatively, you can rent a bike with us for the weekend. Our mechanic will be available this afternoon to assist you with fitting your rental bike or building your own bike after travel.
Bikes can be safely stored at the accommodation.
This afternoon and early evening, our tour leaders and bike mechanics are available for you. The evening is free for you to eat out in one of Alpe d’Huez’s many restaurants.

Wednesday 13 July, 2022 : Stage 11 - Albertville to Col du Granon - 149km
Stage 11 of the Tour de France starts in Albertville. On the way to the finish at the Col du Granon, the route takes in the Lacets de Montvernier, Col du Télégraphe and Col du Galibier. Today we will take you to the Col de Lautaret on our tour vehicles. We will see the riders come past on their descent to Serre Chevalier.
The riders can ride along the valley floor to the top of the Lautaret and if they have the legs for it, even ride all the way to the top of the Galibier.
Thursday 14 July, 2022 : Stage 12 - Briancon to Alpe d'Huez
Stage 12 finishes in Alpe d'Huez. The stage is 166 kilometres long and it starts in Briançon. The Col du Galibier and Col de la Croix de Fer are served up as leg softeners today.
What a day this is and you're right in the middle of all the action. The options are numerous today. Line up by the finish or walk down the bends a bit to see the riders tackling the climb.
Friday 15 July, 2022 : Stage 13 - Bourg d'Oisans to St Etienne
Today's start is in Le Bourg d'Oisans which is the village located at the foot of the climb up to Alpe d'Huez.
We will drive you down to the start to enjoy the build up to the start of the stage today. Watch the riders arrive after yesterday's epic stage. Have a look around the team buses to see the riders warm up. See the riders line up and set off on their journey to St Etienne.
This afternoon we will propose another guided ride.
Saturday 16 July, 2022 : Departure day
