Depending on the length of stay you have booked with us you might arrive before or depart on different days to the following itinerary. The itinerary below reflects a 3-night stay arriving on Friday 7th October.
Friday 7th October, 2022: Arrival Day
Make your own arrangements to arrive at your hotel in London today. Usually, hotel rooms are ready to check in after 3pm. If you arrive early, then you can leave your luggage with the hotel and explore your surroundings while you wait for the room to be ready.
The rest of the day and evening is free for you to enjoy London at your leisure.
Saturday 8th October, 2022: Preparation day
Following a great nights sleep we invite you to enjoy breakfast in the hotel.
What about my race bib collection?
Royal Parks Half Marathon race pack including bib must be collected today – location and opening hours are to be advised.
How do I contact Marathon Tours & Travel staff during my stay?
Marathon Tours & Travel staff will be available at certain times in the reception area of the hotel. Times and contact numbers will be provided with your final documents and itinerary.
The rest of the day and evening is free for you to enjoy London at your leisure.
Sunday 9th October, 2022: Race Day
This is the day you have trained so hard for!
Take an early breakfast in the hotel before making your way to the race start, which is only a short distance away!
How do I get to the race start?
The Royal Parks Half Marathon start and finish area is along the south side of Hyde Park. Our hotel Corus Hyde Park is an easy 25 minutes walk away.
On arrival at the start please follow the instructions of the race officials.
2022 Royal Parks Half Marathon
The course showcases London through four Royal Parks (Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, St James's Park, and The Green Park) and past some of the capital's most historic landmarks, including Buckingham Palace, Horse Guards Parade and the Royal Albert Hall. Although undulating in parts, the course is not hilly and is great for either experienced or first time half marathon runners. The race begins and ends in London's famous Hyde Park.
All participants have the option to receive a technical bamboo race shirt upon completing the race. However, new for this year, you can choose to plant a tree in lieu of receiving a race shirt. You will have been given this option during registration.
Family and friends who did not enter the half marathon?
Traditionally the finish area is a lot of fun, a festival with food, drink and entertainment. Easily accessible from our hotel and great place to be. You could see them off at the start, welcome them back at the finish or you could take a train to venture out to other parts of the route to support and spectate.
After the race make your way back to the hotel, freshen up, celebrate…you deserve it!
How do I get to my hotel from the race finish?
Hotel Corus Hyde Park is a straightforward walk across the park and takes approx. 25 minutes.
Monday 10th October, 2022: Departure Day
Unless you have booked extra nights with us then today, we ask that you check out of your room before 11 am, and we say thank you for joining us. It’s not goodbye but instead we’ll see you next time as we hope you will join us for another Marathon Tours & Travel
