Depending on the length of stay you have booked with us you might arrive before or depart on different days to the following itinerary. The itinerary below reflects the 3 nights package. Edinburgh is beautiful with plenty to see and do so we recommend extra nights. Optional tours can be arranged.
Friday 27 May, 2022 : Travel to Edinburgh
Make your own arrangements to arrive at our hotel in Edinburgh today. Usually, hotel rooms are ready to check in after 3pm. You can leave your luggage with the hotel and explore your surroundings while you wait for the room to be ready.

We are staying at the hotel Ibis Edinburgh South Bridge which includes breakfast after each night’s stay. You can stay with us for 2 or 3 nights.
What about my race bib collection?
All Edinburgh Marathon race entries must be collected from race registration and expo at the EMF Hub & Event Number Station at Dynamic Earth.
On Friday 27th & Saturday 28th May, the venue of the EMF Hub & Event Number Station is Dynamic Earth. Visit the EMF Hub if you need to pick up an Event Number or require any information about the Edinburgh Marathon Festival. Full address is: Our Dynamic Earth, Holyrood Road, Edinburgh, EH8 8AS.
Opening times and days
• Friday – 12noon – 8.00pm
• Saturday – 8.00am – 4pm
On Saturday evening, the Event Number Station will move to the Teviot and the opening hours will be from 6pm – 9pm. Teviot Row House, 13 Bristo Square, Teviot Row House, Edinburgh.
A friend or family member can pick up your running number for you if you are unable to before your race. In order to do so, they require a copy of your confirmation email and your ID or just a copy of your ID.

How do I contact Destination Sport Experiences staff during my stay?
Destination Sport Experiences staff with local knowledge of Edinburgh and our team will be available at certain times in the reception area of the hotel. Times and contact numbers will be provided with your final documents and itinerary.
The rest of the day and evening is free for you to enjoy Edinburgh at your leisure.
Saturday 28 May, 2022 : Edinburgh 5k, 10k, guided run and Expo
Today, the Edinburgh 5k and 10k take place. The start and finish of both the 5k and the 10k are at Holyrood Park which is at just a 10 minute walk from our hotel. Starting and finishing near the EMF Hub at Dynamic Earth, both events feature beautiful, scenic routes in Holyrood Park in the heart of Edinburgh. The routes offer stunning views of Edinburgh Castle and panoramic views of the city.
After breakfast Destination Sport Experiences staff invite all our runners to join us for an easy run. The route will take you from the hotel on an easy lap around Edinburgh with ‘Dynamic Earth’ as our destination. Here you can collect your bib if you haven’t already collected it. Supporters are very welcome to join too. Why not take part in the 5k or the 10k as a warm up this morning?

If you didn’t collect your bib yesterday, please do so today. There is no possibility of bib collection on race day.

Sunday 29 May, 2022 : The Edinburgh Marathon and Half Marathon
This is the day you have trained so hard for! Early breakfast is arranged in the hotel.
How do I get to the race start?
From the hotel it is approximately a 10-minute walk to the race start area. On arrival at the start please follow the instructions of the race officials.
Family and friends who did not enter the marathon?
You can travel by foot or public transport in your own time and pace to support and spectate along the race route. The Destination Sport Experiences team will be happy to advise.
After the race make your way back to the hotel, freshen up, celebrate…you deserve it!
How do I get to my hotel from the race finish?
• Marathon and 1/2 marathon Start is in Potterow (5 mins from hotel)
• Marathon and 1/2 marathon Finish at Pinkie Playing Fields (free shuttles run back to the centre)
• Buccleuch Place is finish shuttle stop and is 10 min walk from hotel
On arrival back to the hotel, chill out, relax and recover before celebrating in one of Edinburgh’s many nice bars and restaurants.
Monday 30 May, 2022 : Departure day
Unless you have booked extra nights with us then today, we ask that you check out of your room before 12 noon, and we say thank you for joining us. It’s not goodbye but instead we’ll see you next time as we hope you will join us for another Destination Sport Experience.
