Entry and Hospitality Ticket Sales

In the selling of any entry or hospitality tickets, Sportive Breaks act as an agent for the event organiser.

Each guest car can accommodate 6 guests. In this 'A Day on course in an official car' package you can choose to reserve 1 or more places and you will be allocated a guest car by the organization. If you want an exclusive guest car available for yourself and your guests, you can choose the option 'Own car'. The entire car is then at your disposal and you can fill it with a maximum of 6 guests.

The 'A Day on course in an official car' package offers you the ultimate cycling adventure; a whole day of cycling fun which you experience in the midst of the team leaders and cyclists in the race caravan.

Your day starts early; you will be expected at 8:00 am at the finish area in Valkenburg. You will be introduced to your personal host who will be your escort and guide for the day.

You will then set off to Maastricht for an extensive breakfast buffet and the official team presentations before the start. You can stay between the male and female teams and get access to the VIP-starting zone where you can follow the team presentation from one of the best spots. After the start of the race your journey of following the race will start.

The ascent of the famous hills, the first escapes and chases; you immediately see where the action is. You will arrive on the Cauberg in time to see the finish, where you are welcome in our VIP-pavilion. The VIP-pavilion offers you a unforgettable day with the possibility to watch the male and female finish line passages before the exciting finishes. After that, you can attend the winner’s honouring and the first interview with both race winners. You can experience all of this while enjoying our extensive offer of food and drinks in the culinary programme. The unique location of the VIP-pavilion with its VIP-terrace offers our guests the best view at the exciting finishes and they also get a close-up view of the prize ceremonies from the VIP-pavilion and VIP-terrace. ‘Follow the Race’ offers you a day you will never forget!

The Amstel Gold Race has been taking place in the southernmost province of the Netherlands Limburg every year since 1966. Every year ‘De Markt’ in Maastricht is the start venue of the Amstel Gold Race with the finish in nearby Berg en Terblijt (Valkenburg).

The Amstel Gold Race is the only Dutch classic in the Netherlands. The day before the professional's thousands of Sportive riders tackle memorable hills such as the Keutenberg; the Camerig, the Bemelerberg and the Cauberg as the finale.

How to get there

Maastricht and nearby Valkenburg are situated in the Dutch province of Zuid-Limburg, in the southernmost tip of the Netherlands. The area is surrounded by Belgium and Germany and it is not too far from the French border either. Cities like Liège, Aachen, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt and Brussels are just a short distance away.

By plane

Maastricht has its own airport: Maastricht-Aachen Airport. In addition, several (inter)national airports are within an hour’s drive from the centre of Maastricht. This ensures that Maastricht & region is easily accessible from all over the world.

Airports include

• Eindhoven Airport (EIN) - 1h30mins
• Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS) – 2h30mins

By car

Maastricht and Valkenburg are easily accessible through various motorways: E25/A2 (Amsterdam-Luxembourg), E40 (Cologne-Brussels), E42 (Liège-Paris), E314 (Maastricht-Aachen).

By train

It takes just 11 minutes to get the train from Maastricht to Valkenburg so it’s a very good option to stay in Maastricht with its plentiful hotel choice and to take the train to Valkenburg. Watch the start in Maastricht and take the train to Valkenburg to watch the riders several times before they finish.

There is a direct train from Amsterdam Central to Maastricht every 30 minutes and the journey takes about 2.5 hours. Maastricht Central is just a few minutes away from the city centre by foot. Lots of hotels are within walking distance from Maastricht Central as well. Maastricht is also easily accessible by international train by Thalys and Eurostar from Brussels, Paris or London via Liège station.
