Tri Travel joined our family in 2024 and shortly after we created our HYROX Tours and Destination Sports Charity brands. Read about their history below…
Marathon Tours & Travel
The Running Specialists
Joining Destination Sport Experiences in 2022, Marathon Tours & Travel has been one of the leading destination sports travel specialists since its foundation in 1979 by Thom Gilligan. Starting out by taking runners to the New York City Marathon, the company has grown from strength-to-strength in its 45 years of existence and now takes runners and their supporters to marathons all over the world. Starting out with its original office in Boston, the company has now expanded to have offices in Manchester, UK, Adelaide, Australia and Shanghai, China. Since 1995, Marathon Tours & Travel (MTT) has owned and operated iconic marathons such as the Antarctica Marathon and now controls a number of marathons all around the world. Alongside that, MTT have a longstanding relationship with the Abbott World Marathon Majors, most recently becoming the sponsor for the Abbott World Marathon Majors Age Group World Championship.
Sportive Breaks
The Cycling Specialists
Sportive Breaks joined the Destination Sport Experiences stable in 2022 and is one of the leading providers of cycling holidays in Europe. Formed in 2015, Sportive Breaks has become synonymous with some of the most popular Sportives and cycle races in the world and has also expanded its offering to hospitality for many races in the cycling calendar as well. In 2024, the company signed an exclusive agreement with one of the most popular cycling teams in the world, Team Visma | Lease a Bike to become their exclusive fan and hospitality travel partner, providing memorable experiences for cycling fans on race days. Alongside that, Sportive Breaks offer unique cycling holidays in Europe, either via their ‘Weekender’ offering, or self-guided, allowing cyclists to explore some of the top cycling destinations in Europe throughout the year. Sportive Breaks is now a multinational operation, with offices in the U.S., Australia and China.
Tri Travel
The Triathlon Specialists
Tri Travel joined Destination Sport Experiences in 2023 as part of an exclusive strategic partnership, allowing DSE to lead on Tri Travel brand activity in the UK, Europe and the U.S. Founded in Australia in 2000, Tri Travel offers a global line up of triathlon, cycling and running event packages, with over 40 middle and long-distance races across 27 countries, organised annually as part of the series. Tri Travel is also the official travel partner of Challenge Family with the leading global triathlon festival race series. The headline event is the world-famous Challenge Roth, widely considered one of the most spectacular races for both athletes and spectators. Entries usually sell out within minutes, but Tri Travel offer package options for the sell-out event, to include race entry, accommodation and logistical and transport requirements. Tri Travel now has offices in the UK, U.S. and its head office in Australia.
Destination Sport Charity
The Charity Specialists
Destination Sport Charity launched in 2024 and is the official charity division of not just Destination Sport Experiences, but the Destination Sport Group. Led by our Head of Business Development, Alan Maloney, they offer a complete solution for charities and corporations by offering premium fundraising opportunities through a variety of events and challenges. Combining the events portfolio of Destination Sport Experiences with the opportunity to raise money for charity, Destination Sport Charity (DSC) is a game-changer for charities, providing a hub for all their fundraising needs. Shortly after its launch, DSC was announced as the Official Charity Partner for the 2025 TCS Sydney Marathon – Presented by ASICS as it became the seventh world marathon major, allowing runners to raise money for charities and take part in one of the world’s most iconic marathons as it begins a brand new chapter as one of the elite races.
HYROX Tours by Destination Sport Experiences
The HYROX Specialists
HYROX Tours by Destination Sport Experiences was another addition to the group in 2024, becoming the first Official Travel Partner of the HYROX brand. As the Official Travel Partner, HYROX Tours by Destination Sport Experiences provides exclusive, athlete-focused travel and accommodation packages to promote the best event experience. Their expert team have spent months sourcing the very best hotels located conveniently close to HYROX events which means that all athletes have to think about is their performance, saving long journeys and hours spent trawling the web in search of the best deals. HYROX Tours by Destination Sport Experiences is unique in being the only travel partner of HYROX to offer accommodation alongside entries for HYROX events.

The Endurance Sports Specialists
Destination Sport Experiences (DSE) was founded in 2022 by the Portman Travel Group, which also launched Clarity Sports, Sportsbreaks.com and Amaze. With decades of experience in the sports travel industry, DSE has since gone on to acquire Marathon Tours & Travel and Sportive Breaks, and has entered in to a strategic partnership with Tri Travel. Alongside that, the company has also created two new brands; Destination Sport Charity and HYROX Tours by Destination Sport Experiences. With its Head Office in Manchester, DSE is part of the Destination Sport Group which utilises seven different sports travel brands covering a large number of sports around the world. DSE has offices in Boston, USA, Adelaide, Australia and Shanghai, China and has expanded from a small team at its inception in 2022 to a team of well over 50 full-time staff, operating over 100 events across four different endurance sports.

Destination Sport Group was formed in 2019, initially as Clarity Sports as a sister-business to Clarity Travel, one of the UK’s leading business travel management companies.
Following considerable expansion via organic growth and acquisitions, Destination Sport Group became a standalone division within the Portman Travel Group in 2021.
